Deka Immobilien sells office and retail building in Berlin

Deka Immobilien has sold the “Schönhauser Tor” office and retail building in Berlin-Mitte from the portfolio of the Deka-ImmobilienEuropa open-ended real estate fund. The buyer is an institutional investor. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The eight-storey office and retail complex at Torstraße 49 comprises around 16,200 sqm of lettable space, of which approximately 14,700 sqm is office space, 950 sqm is retail space, 570 sqm is storage space and 124 parking spaces. The property is currently around 80 per cent let. Deka Immobilien acquired the property in 1993.

With this transaction, the fund management is taking advantage of a market opportunity to sell in order to optimise the portfolio.
