Work completed while the shopping centre was still open for business:

• Gaining marketable shop areas on the first floor by changing the shop layout to create spatial relationships and improve visibility
• Redesigning the food court to offer good variety and encourage people to linger
• Giving the shopfronts a standardised new look and reworking the façade design
• Revamping the concourses using, for example, natural stone, real wood and differentiated lighting
• Designing two indoor areas—a lounge area and a play area—to improve the visitor experience
• Creating visually and spatially attractive entrances and connecting passages
• Redesigning the outdoor terraces in a nautical style
• Refurbishing the toilet areas and the centre management office
• Rebranding the shopping centre

Results:

Aside from a few specific areas, the TORRESHOPPING shopping centre was fully leased during the course of the revitalisation project. New anchor tenants signed on, including FNAC (a retail chain selling media and electronic products) and other attractive new brands. Clearly visible from the motorway, the newly made-over TORRESHOPPING centre now greets visitors with a modern logo and new colour scheme. With its fresh new gastro look, the redesigned food court boasts an attractive mixture of national and international cuisine and invites diners to take their time over their meal. Lastly, the lounge and play areas provide unique, enticing spaces for rest and relaxation.
