The history of the office building in the Paleisstraat in the lively historic centre of The Hague is fascinating: a transformation with an astounding before and after effect which is hard to beat in terms of radiance. The no longer marketable property with office use in Paleisstraat 5 has been transformed into a representative boutique hotel with 72 first-class guest rooms by the operator "Mövenpick" - while retaining the building shell and atrium with skylight.
The prestigious address of the former office building in a CBD location in The Hague's government district not far from the Royal Palace proved to be virtually predestined for this impressive transformation of the five-storey building into a modern hotel jewel in the Dutch design concept of the Swiss operator "Mövenpick".
The conversion of the office building, which formerly had 6,100 m² of rental space, into an attractive, market-oriented boutique hotel began in mid-2018 under the direction of an international project team. Exactly one year later, the newly designed hotel was handed over to its operator "Mövenpick" in order to welcome and inspire guests from all over the world in the splendour of a first-class hotel in a prime business location.
Through in-depth market analysis and a visionary concept, the conversion of the office building into a luxury boutique hotel recognised the opportunities in the market and made optimal use of them: a new, exceptionally attractive hotel was created under the management of the renowned Swiss hotel chain "Mövenpick", with which a long-term lease was concluded. The hotel lives modernity and first-class standards on all levels: from the representative entrance area, the open staircase and the conference rooms to the restaurant, wine bar and the impressive atrium, which puts the innovative Dutch design of the boutique hotel in the perfect light - and will delight guests from all over the world.
